Duarte Sardo
Team member at HNF Arquitectos Associados
MSc in Architecture
Member nº 28012 of the Order of Architects (PT)
Duarte was born in 1982 in Setúbal and completed his secondary education in Alcácer do Sal, where he currently lives. He attended the Architecture course at the Universidade Moderna de Setúbal between 2002 and 2009. He worked in the construction company Romão e Vaz S.A. in Sines for nine years, where he monitored construction works in collective housing and collaborated with the architect José Varela Lima in the supervision of projects, where he gained experience in terms of execution projects, detailed design, supervision and monitoring of works.
In 2018/2019 he collaborated with Architect José V. Lima, in the preliminary study and licensing project for a multifamily housing building in Sines and, in parallel, he was responsible for several refurbishment works on a TV show in Vila Nova de Santo André. Since 2020 he works as a designer in the company IVL Projetos e Património. In the same year, he finished the Integrated Master's Degree in Architecture under the guidance of Hugo Nazareth Fernandes, with the thesis theme "Project, Place and Idea". He has been working in the HNF Arquitectos Associados studio since that date, where he works as a designer and site coordinator.
With a strong connection to water sports, he is a practitioner of kayak, bodyboard, crossfit, triathlon and a member of a capoeira group. He is also an excellent deep-sea fisherman on "his" Alentejo coast, and knows "secret spots" and magical places that, for obvious reasons, he cannot reveal. It is fair to consider that his resilience as a freediver can only be matched to the profoundness of his professional commitment until the completion of the construction.
